The Full Story

BLOOMS ON THE MOVE

In 2021, we saw a massive decline in volunteers as well as visitors due to Covid.  We knew we had to adapt and came up with a brilliant idea.  We had to take the Farm on the road!  Thanks to the generosity of Kane County Fit for Kids, we were able to purchase a multi-purpose 6x12 trailer.  We call it "Blooms on the Move".  We are now able to deliver food, host mobile classes, co-host fundraisers and serve our community in so many other ways!

FOOD DELIVERY

Many people are unable to find the resources necessary to live a healthy life.  If you are unable to find fresh produce or visit a food pantry, let us know.  We may have options for you!

EDUCATION

If your group is unable to visit us at the Farm, let us know.  We will bring our educational programs to you!  We have multiple programs available to pick from or we can customize one just for you.  We regularly work with Scouts, Schools, Church groups and many more in the environment in which they are most comfortable.  A small fee may apply to cover the cost of supplies.

Courses include:

  • Building a raised bed

  • Vegetable seed starting

  • Building a farm craft

  • Hydroponics and solar power

  • Q&A with a dietician

  • Social farming systems

  • Food preservation

  • Home composting

FUNDRAISING

Blooms on the Move also works as a mobile pop-up shop.  We partner with other non-profits to sell farm crafts and live plants.  We provide the product, you supply the workers and clients.  In the end we split the profit.  It's a win-win!
